A new cultural complex, Parc.1, has opened in Seoul’s Yeouido district, combining business, shopping and leisure in one stop, with the opening of two high-rise office buildings, luxury hotel Fairmont Ambassador Seoul, and The Hyundai Seoul, a new concept shopping center. Recognized as Seoul’s financial district, Yeouido is an island in central Seoul home to key spots in the capital city, including the International Finance Center (IFC), the National Assembly and the 63 building. A central location with easy access make the district a top pick for business. The new Parc.1 complex, designed by world-renowned architect Sir Richard Rogers, is marked by its striking exterior, inspired by red columns symbolizing dignity and refinement in traditional Korean architecture. The new complex welcomes the first Fairmont property to Korea, Fairmont Ambassador Seoul, offering 326 spacious, contemporary guest rooms, including 16 suites with panoramic views of the Han River. Also available is an indoor swimming pool, spa, fitness center and spaces for business events and meetings, including Gallery 7, a dedicated floor for small-to-medium-scale business conferences and meetings. Directly connected to the hotel is The Hyundai Seoul, an innovative shopping complex combining an indoor green space with a shopping experience. The complex is now the largest department store in Seoul, with 7 basement and 8 above ground floors, and a total area of 89,100 m2. Highlights of the space include “Waterfall Garden”, featuring a 12m-high artificial waterfall, and “Sounds Forest”, a recreation of the nearby Yeouido Park, with natural grass and trees. The department store also introduces new elements for contact-free shopping, including an unmanned store where shoppers can purchase products using a pre-registered payment method using a mobile app, as well as a safety management and guide robot. Offering convenient access from Incheon International Airport and main attractions in Seoul, plus direct access to subway lines 5 and 9 via underground walkway, Parc.1 will offer visiting MICE delegates a new experience in Korea’s Yeouido district once travel resumes. close |
